Adedokun Waliyu Veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has been laid to rest in his hometown of Ilaro, Ogun State.
The actor was buried according to Islamic rites after funeral prayers were held at the Asade Agunloye Pavilion Ground in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the state.
Ogogo died at the age of 66 after battling stage-four cancer. His family had publicly disclosed his health condition days before his death.
His passing has sparked widespread tributes across the Yoruba film industry, with colleagues describing him as a major figure whose contributions to Nigerian cinema and Yoruba culture will not be forgotten.
Family members, friends, residents and prominent figures in the Nigerian entertainment industry gathered in Ilaro to pay their final respects to the Yoruba cinema icon.
Among those present were veteran actors Yinka Quadri, Jide Kosoko, Mr Latin, Dele Odule, Olaiya Igwe, Fathia Balogun and Kolawole Ajeyemi, who joined other mourners in honouring the late actor.
Ogogo was one of the prominent figures in the Yoruba-language film industry, with a career spanning several decades as an actor, filmmaker and director.
