President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has arrived in Rwanda ahead of the 13th edition of the Africa CEO Forum 2026 scheduled to begin on Thursday in Kigali.
The Nigerian leader arrived at the Presidential Wing of Kigali International Airport on Wednesday and was received by Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu, alongside Rwanda’s Defence Minister Juvenal Marizamunda and other top officials.
Among dignitaries present to welcome the President were Jumoke Oduwole, Mohammed Mohammed, Ibrahim Zanna, and Sunday Dare.
President Tinubu later proceeded to Urugwiro Village where he held bilateral talks with Rwandan President Paul Kagame aimed at strengthening diplomatic and economic ties between both countries.
Founded in 2012 by Jeune Afrique Media and co-hosted by the International Finance Corporation, the Africa CEO Forum is regarded as Africa’s largest annual gathering of business leaders, investors, policymakers, and heads of state.
This year’s forum is themed “The Scale Imperative: Why Africa Must Embrace Shared Ownership.”
During the summit, President Tinubu is expected to deliver a keynote address titled “Holding the Line: Nigeria’s Reform Bet in a Fractured World,” where he will outline the progress and impact of his administration’s economic reforms.
The Nigerian President is also expected to engage with African and global business executives to promote Nigeria as a preferred investment destination and strengthen regional economic cooperation across the continent.
The two-day summit, taking place from May 14 to 15 at the Kigali Convention Centre, is projected to host more than 2,000 chief executives, investors, policymakers, and several African leaders.
According to the Presidency, Tinubu will use the platform to reaffirm Nigeria’s commitment to African unity, strategic partnerships, and private sector-led sustainable development.
