Wayne Rooney has been arrested for public intoxication and swearing charges in Washington D.C.
The offence, according to court documents posted online by ABC 7 journalist Erin Hawksworth, was committed on December 16, 2018.
Rooney was released on his own recognisance after being arrested and paid a $25 fine on January 4, 2019, according to the records.
He was arrested by the Metropolitan Washington Airport Authority at Dulles International Airport after spending a number of days in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Rooney moved to Washington D.C. and signed a three-and-a-half year deal with the MLS side in June 2018.
He enjoyed a successful season with him, lifting them from bottom of their division at the time of his arrival to the first round of the play-offs.
