Ousmane Dembele is undergoing treatment for a right calf issue ahead of Paris Saint-Germain’s UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal later this month.
PSG confirmed that the Ballon d’Or winner was substituted after just 30 minutes during Sunday’s 2-1 Ligue 1 defeat to Paris FC as a precaution after experiencing discomfort in his right calf.
The club stated that Dembele would receive treatment over the coming days.
Despite the concern, the 29-year-old did not appear to be in significant pain after the match and was seen leaving with the team without limping.
PSG coach Luis Enrique suggested the issue could simply be fatigue following a demanding end to the season.
“I think it is just due to fatigue,” Enrique said.
“It has been a tricky end to the season but now we have two weeks to prepare for the biggest match in our history.”
The former FC Barcelona player has dealt with several injury setbacks this season, particularly involving his thigh and calf muscles.
Meanwhile, Achraf Hakimi has resumed individual training after recovering from a thigh injury. Willian Pacho, Nuno Mendes and Lucas Chevalier also returned to training after missing Sunday’s match against Paris FC.
PSG recently secured a fifth consecutive French league title and their 14th overall Ligue 1 crown after defeating Lens 2-0 last week.
Luis Enrique’s side will face Arsenal in Budapest on May 30 as they attempt to defend the first Champions League title in the club’s history, won last season.
