TIFF 2026 opened on Thursday, September 10, and runs for 11 days, concluding on Sunday, September 20. This year’s festival offers an exciting combination of films, premieres, concerts, outdoor screenings, cultural activities and public celebrations throughout downtown Toronto.

How to Watch Films in Person:
Hundreds of public screenings are being presented across 23 screens at six major venues:

Ticket prices vary depending on the screening, seating location, venue and whether the event is a regular presentation, world premiere or premium gala.
When advance tickets are unavailable, moviegoers may still join the rush line at the venue.
Rush tickets are released shortly before a screening when seats become available because of cancellations or ticket-holder absences.
However, admission is not guaranteed, so arriving early is advisable.

Experience TIFF Beyond the Cinemas

King Street West is closed to vehicle traffic from September 10 to 13, creating a pedestrian-friendly Festival Street filled with entertainment, performances, activities and opportunities for audiences to experience TIFF’s vibrant atmosphere.
Cinema Park at David Pecaut Square also presents free outdoor screenings during the festival. The programme includes popular classics such as Hoosiers, City Lights, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory and The Great Muppet Caper.
