FIFA has announced parking prices for World Cup matches at Toronto Stadium, formerly known as BMO Field, with accessible parking costing $74.99 per game.
The parking spaces are located at Lot 2, south of the stadium, and all passes must be purchased in advance through FIFA’s platform. Fans are also required to have a valid match ticket before buying parking.
Toronto will host seven World Cup matches, beginning with Canada’s opening game against Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 12.
Standard parking prices for the tournament have not yet been announced.
Under normal circumstances, parking at BMO Field costs about $30 for Toronto FC matches and $25 for Toronto Argonauts games, though prices can vary during major events.
Officials noted that Toronto’s World Cup parking rates are still lower than prices at some venues in the United States.
Parking near World Cup venues in places such as San Francisco, New Jersey, and Los Angeles reportedly ranges from about $138 to $300, with some lots located far from stadiums.
Ticket prices for the World Cup in Toronto have also generated complaints from fans.
For Canada’s opening match, Category 1 tickets are priced above $3,000, while Category 2 tickets cost over $2,000. Category 3 tickets are listed at around $1,370.
Transportation agencies are encouraging fans to use public transit instead of driving to matches.
Metrolinx says GO Transit train services on the Lakeshore West line will increase during World Cup games, with up to six trains operating every hour between Exhibition GO Station and Union Station before and after matches.
The Toronto Transit Commission also plans to increase service during the tournament to help manage the expected surge in passengers.
