Atletico Madrid have completed the signing of South Korean international Kang-In Lee from Paris Saint-Germain on a long-term contract.
The Spanish club announced that the 25-year-old midfielder has signed a deal that will keep him at Atletico until June 30, 2031.
In a statement, Atletico described Lee as a talented left-footed midfielder capable of playing as an attacking midfielder or on either wing. The club praised his vision, excellent ball control, and ability to create and score goals.
Although neither club disclosed the transfer fee, reports indicate the deal is worth around 40 million euros, excluding performance-related bonuses.
Paris Saint-Germain thanked Lee for his contributions during his three-year spell at the club after joining from Valencia in 2023.
During his time in Paris, Lee scored 16 goals in 124 appearances and won 12 major trophies. However, he struggled for regular playing time under coach Luis Enrique and was sidelined by a thigh injury in January.
He was also an unused substitute as PSG won the last two UEFA Champions League titles.
Lee becomes Atletico Madrid’s third signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Danish midfielder Morten Hjulmand and Spanish left-back Alejandro Grimaldo.
His arrival comes after the departure of long-serving forward Antoine Griezmann, who recently joined Major League Soccer side Orlando City.
At international level, Lee has earned 50 caps for South Korea, with his most recent appearance coming at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Asian nation exited the tournament in the group stage.
Meanwhile, Paris Saint-Germain have continued reshaping their squad by selling striker Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan and are reportedly in talks to sign Maghnes Akliouche from Monaco and Yan Diomande from RB Leipzig.
