Real Madrid have confirmed the signing of defender Ibrahima Konate from Liverpool on a four-year contract following the expiration of his deal at Anfield.
The Spanish club announced that Konate has signed a contract that will keep him at the Santiago Bernabéu until June 30, 2030.
The 27-year-old joined Liverpool from RB Leipzig in 2021, making 183 appearances for the club. During his time at Anfield, he won the Premier League in 2025, the FA Cup in 2022, and several other trophies.
Konate, who is currently representing France at the FIFA World Cup, becomes part of a strengthened Real Madrid squad. The club has also appointed Jose Mourinho as head coach and signed Spain left-back Marc Cucurella and Portugal midfielder Bernardo Silva.
Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Inter Milan wing-back Denzel Dumfries as they continue rebuilding the squad after going two consecutive seasons without winning a major trophy.
The club recently extended the contract of centre-back Antonio Rudiger until 2027 following the departures of Dani Carvajal and David Alaba at the end of their contracts.
