United States President Donald Trump has been declared to be in excellent health following his latest medical examination, although his doctor advised him to lose weight and increase physical activity.
According to a medical report released by the White House, Trump underwent a comprehensive medical and dental examination at Walter Reed Military Hospital. His physician, Navy Captain Sean Barbabella, stated that the president demonstrated strong heart, lung, neurological, and overall physical function and remains fully fit to carry out the duties of office.
The report recommended preventive measures, including a healthier diet, increased exercise, continued weight loss, and the use of low-dose aspirin for heart health.
Trump, who is nearly 80 years old, stands 6 feet 3 inches (191 cm) tall and weighs 238 pounds (108 kg), an increase of 14 pounds compared to his previous annual medical examination. Despite this, doctors estimated that his heart health is comparable to that of someone about 14 years younger.
The president also achieved a perfect score of 30 out of 30 in a cognitive assessment test, something he has frequently highlighted publicly.
Bruising And Other Health Concerns
The report addressed the bruising often seen on Trump’s right hand, explaining that it is likely due to frequent handshaking combined with the use of aspirin, which can make bruising more noticeable.
It also referenced a previous diagnosis of chronic venous insufficiency, a condition affecting blood flow in the veins of the legs. The condition was identified after doctors evaluated swelling in his legs and ankles. While common among older adults, it can cause swelling, cramping, and skin changes.
Doctors also noted scarring on Trump’s right ear from the gunshot wound he sustained during an assassination attempt at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania in 2024.
White House Releases Medical Summary
Trump described the medical examination as having gone “perfectly” and the White House later shared a message celebrating what it called a “perfect bill of health.”
The release of the medical report came several days after the examination, drawing attention because presidential health summaries are often released shortly after such check-ups.
This was Trump’s third medical examination since returning to office. Questions about his health have occasionally surfaced due to reports of apparent drowsiness during some public events and the visible bruising on his hand, though the White House maintains that he remains in good health and capable of performing his duties.
