Air Peace on Thursday blamed the disruption of its scheduled Lagos–London Gatwick service on May 13 on access issues involving the airspace authorities of an African country.
According to a statement released by the airline’s management, the aircraft safely returned to Lagos after the issue arose, in line with established international aviation procedures.
As a result, the London Gatwick flight was rescheduled while discussions with the relevant authorities continued to resolve the matter.
The airline said affected passengers were immediately informed about the situation and were provided with support services, communication updates, and other necessary assistance for their convenience.
Air Peace did not disclose the African country accused of withholding the airspace access.
The airline apologised to passengers for the inconvenience caused by what it described as an “unforeseen” disruption that was beyond its control.
