President of the United Church of Christ in Nigeria, also known as HEKAN, Reverend Amos Kiri, on Sunday, asked the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government to dislodge murderous Fulani herdsmen the way it dislodged Boko Haram insurgents.
The cleric said the issue of Fulani herdsmen, who had wreaked havoc on some states in the North, must not be treated with levity.
Kiri, speaking on the theme, ‘Restoration’, at the 51st annual convention of the church, in Kaduna, on Sunday, noted that innocent Nigerians had suffered enough in the hands of herdsmen, stressing that the Federal Government should wake up to its responsibility and secure Nigeria.
According to him, herdsmen deserved similar treatment being meted out to Boko Haram members by the Nigerian military.
The cleric urged the Nigerian military to sustain the current onslaught against Boko Haram, insisting that killings by both the sect and herdsmen must stop.
The HEKAN leader also used the occasion to thank God for granting President Muhammadu Buhari recovery from his sickness.
