Ajax new boy, Calvin Bassey will make his debut for the Eredivisie champions against rivals, PSV Eindhoven on Saturday after his work permit finally came through.
Bassey recently penned a long-term contract with the Amsterdam club following his transfer from Scottish Premiership giants, Glasgow Rangers.
The versatile defender’s debut has however been delayed due to paperwork.
The Nigerian international missed last week’s friendly against Ukrainian outfit,
Shakhtar Donetsk over same issue.
The 22-year-old has however been cleared to face PSV in the Johan Cruyff Shield.
“Yes he (Bassey) will be included in the selection,”Ajax manager, Alfred Schreuder told a press conference on Friday.
The Johan Cruyff Shield, the equivalent of the Community Shield in England, usually ushers in the new season in the Netherlands.
