As Ekiti people roll out the drums in celebration of the birth of the state’s chapter of the South West Agenda for Asiwaju 2023, SWAGA, a staunch member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Chief Segun Ajibulu has sent solidarity message, just as he urged the people to continue investing in quality people into governance for a better yield in democratic dividend.
Ajibulu who was speaking from his base in America, noted that the sure way to people’s emancipation from the shackles of poverty and insecurity pervading the land under a democracy is for the people to resolve to voting credible men and women of experience and maturity into government.
SWAGA is a composition of loyalists of APC Leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, within the APC who believe in his leadership qualities and experience as panacea to the current situation in Nigeria and are urging him to contest the number one seat in coming elections.
The group of Asiwaju political loyalists, SWAGA, was first launched in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital in January 2021 and has spread tentacles to Osun, Ogun, Ondo and now Ekiti where it is billed to be officially launched Tuesday.
Commenting, Ajibulu commended the efforts of the leadership of SWAGA and expressed joy at the warm reception of the group in Ekiti, saying: “this is the beginning of new things to come, the genesis of a journey of a highly traumatized people to comfortable redemption.
According to him, “all that Nigeria needs at this time of global economic crisis and insecurity are men and women of honour and experience, to stir the affair of the country to safety and Asiwaju Tinubu, through the template he laid in Lagos State to date, has distinguished himself as one to beat in the quest for the Nigeria’s number one position come 2023.
“Here was a man who led cosmopolitan Lagos with zero allocation without owing salaries nor impediment caused to development, he has an eye to discover talents and prop them up to positions where they become blessings to Lagos State and the nation as a whole; a unbiased, detrabilised Nigerian who identify talents without ethnic or tribal considerations; who have done so much for his party to attain the lofty height it occupies today,” Ajibulu said.
He called on the Ekiti people to keep the high spirit and continue in their advocacy to ensure the next presidential candidate for the APC come from the south and to cap their agitation by making the Asiwaju presidency a reality.
