Ogun State House of Assembly has rounded off the 2020 budget defence session for Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) of government, with a charge on them to step up measures at boosting the revenue drive of the State for the implementation of the lofty projects towards delivering more democratic dividends to the people.
The Chairman, House Committee on Finance and Appropriation, Kunle Sobukanla gave the admonition, while expressing satisfactory on the conducts of the proposals of all MDAs, pointing out that the budget was capable of improving the socio-economic status of the State through the delivery of peopke oriented projects.
Assuring of speedy passage of the budget before the year runs out, Sobukanla assured that the Assembly would improve on her oversight function to monitor the effective implementation of the developmental projects with a view to achieving prudency and efficient service delivery.
Earlier, the Ag. Clerk of the Assembly, Deji Adeyemo presented the 2020 budget proposal of the Assembly, assuring that more legislations including bills, motions and resolutions would be passed on contemporary issues that would improve the quality of governance in the State.
The State Assembly Service Commission also presented its 2020 budget proposal.
Also, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, led Permanent Secretaries under the Office of the Governor to defend the budget proposals of the Office of the Governor, Deputy Governor’s office, Bureau of Cabinet and Special Services, Bureau of Government House and General Services, Bureau of Political and Administration, Bureau of Protocol and Ceremonials, State Liason Offices (Lagos and Abuja) and the Office of the Chief of Staff.
