To celebrate this year’s International Women’s day, some experts around the globe have maintained that women are meant to make their healthcare a priority as they are known to be caretakers of their families.
This was made known by panelists during a webinar organized by Munipal Hospitals Enterprise, India where the issues affecting women’s health was critically analyzed.
According to the panelists which was chaired by Dr. Bhaskar Shenoy, a Consultant of the Manipal hospital alongside other professionals in the field focused on the theme “Circle of Care: Women’s Health and stated that it is important for women to take care of their health at every stage of life.
“Women have always been known to be caretakers of the family. She does everything for the good of her loved ones. They spend more time taking care of others than themselves. She is the one who always keeps the family healthy, but she has different health needs throughout each stage of her life. Balancing a career and a family is extremely stressful.”
” Women may suffer from various health issues throughout their lives. It is important for them to take care of their health at every stage of life, from regular health problems to severe problems.”
However some women organisations such as Nigeria Association of Women Journalist, The Association of Media Women in Kenya alongside other groups who joined in the webinar urged doctors to address major issues affecting women in their lifetime.
