Wizkid and Reekado Banks appear to have put their past differences aside, sparking reconciliation speculation.
The two singers were recently spotted dining together at a Lagos restaurant alongside rapper Shallipopi.
The reunion comes after Wizkid visited Reekado Banks’ newly opened lounge Above Lifestyle in Lagos.
In now-viral footage, the singers were seen sharing a warm moment, with Wizkid exploring the venue and sitting down for a drink with Reekado.
Their fallout dates back to 2020 when Wizkid called Reekado a “clout animal” on social media after the latter attempted to promote their song amid the EndSARS protests. The song was eventually released without Wizkid’s verse.
Fans are now hopeful that their reconciliation could lead to the revival of their scrapped collaboration.
Wizkid has been spending time in Nigeria since December 2024, performing at several shows following the release of his sixth album ‘Morayo‘.
Born Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, Wizkid first rose to global prominence with ‘Superstar’, his debut album in 2011.
The singer has also received numerous recognitions, including a Grammy Award in 2021 for his collaboration with Beyoncé on the hit song ‘Brown Skin Girl’.
Banks, born Ayodeji Solomon, signed with Mavin Records in 2014. He, however, left the label four years later.
Banks also won several awards. He was declared Rookie of the Year at The Headies 2014. He also won the ‘Next Rated’ award at The Headies 2015.
