The incumbent Governor of Anambra State and candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Willie Obiano, has emerged winner of Saturday’s governorship election in the state.
Obiano who will serve for another 4 years as governor defeated 36 others to emerge winner of the state’s polls.
He won in all the 21 local government areas by a wide margin. He won his local government, Anambra East and defeated all his opponents in their local governments.
The All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Tony Nwoye is far behind in second position. The PDP candidate Oseloka Obaze, came third while Osita Chidoka of the UPP came a distant fourth.
There were 2.16 million voters with Permanent Voter Cards for the election which had a record 37 contestants.
