National Unity and Peace Corps, NUPEC, Osun Command Office, has reiterated it’s commitment to security of the nation through mediation and conflict resolution.
The State Commandant of the Corps, Mr Toyin Moses Ayodele, stated this while speaking with newsmen on the activities of the corps in the state.
Ayodele, who noted that the corps was keen to ensuring peaceful co-existence in the grassroot areas to fast rack national security, maintained that the corps would continue to sustain the existing peace in the state.
The Osun NUPEC Boss, hinted that the National Commandant General of the Corps, Dr. Chinedu Nnaji had worked assiduously to ensure unity of the country and promote national cohesion.
The Osun Commandant who lauded the National Assembly for the passage of the organisation bill, decrying the insinuation that the bill did not affect their organisation NUPEC.
He maintained that the corps had sponsored a bill to the national assembly since 2008 and attended public hearing in the house to defend the position of NUPE before the house committee on interior matters.
He said the Corps secured operation license from Federal Ministry of Interior and its operations had been guided with rules and regulations of the supervising Ministry.
Ayodele, explained that the corps had developed approach of resolving crisis through engagement of traditional rulers and other stakeholders in solving crisis.
The Osun NUPEC Commandant, hinted that the the Corps had been enjoying synergy between other security agencies in the state.
Ayodele, however described his men as a serious minded, amiable, God fearing and dedicated officers who are battle ready to combat any criminal activities in the entire state.
