UK Based Nigerian Sets Up Gofundme Account For Lagos Based Journalist, Akinkunmi King

A gofundme account has been organised by a United Kingdom based Nigerian, Miss Lola Oladele on behalf of a Lagos based journalist, Mr. Akinwunmi King.

The purpose of the gofundme account according to the organiser, is to help solicit fund for Mr. King, who recently got an offer to undertake his Masters degree programme in International Journalism at the Sheffield Hallam University in the United Kingdom.

A check on the gofundme by this medium showed that Mr. King requires a sum of 12,460 pounds, which is around N6.5million, as tuition for the Masters programme.

According to the post, Akinwunmi King, recently applied to the University of Sussex and Sheffield Hallam University to undertake his Masters degree in International Journalism and the two institutions offered him an unconditional admission.

The journalist further explained that his present financial situation won’t allow him to fund the tuition all on his own. “These two admission offers are coming at a time when I can’t even afford to pay the tuition

“I look up to you to achieve this dream and I am counting on your supports and gestures. Whatever you can donate to support me will go a long way.

“My family really need this and we believe that with your kind donations, we won’t miss out on this opportunity. which is estimated at £12640. I don’t want to miss this opportunity, as I believe it will create an avenue to get a better life for me and family,” he added.
