Troops of the Joint Task Force (North East), Operation HADIN KAI (OPHK), have arrested a 15-year-old boy, identified simply as Tijjani, for allegedly being part of the terrorist group that killed Oseni Braimah, one other officer, and two soldiers in Borno State.
Tijjani reportedly made the confession in a video after he was captured by troops on Sunday while on his way to purchase food for his group.
The late General Braimah, who was the Commander of the 29 Task Force Brigade under OPHK, was killed on Thursday during an attack on their base by suspected Boko Haram terrorists.
In the video, Tijjani confirmed he was arrested at Ngamdu in Borno State. Speaking in Hausa, he said he was among the terrorists that attacked Benisheik and Ngamdu.
He explained that before the attack, they moved from Jilli and returned there afterward.
“I was sent from Jilli yesterday with N850,000 to collect some logistics from Ngamdu, but I was arrested by troops,” he said.
He added that he left other fighters at Jilli on Saturday and did not know what had happened to them since then.
