The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, has accused the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr Bola Tinubu, working in concert with the security operatives using his private jet to ferry money from the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, to buy votes across the south west states and Lagos.
Secondus, said by this brazen act of impunity to rig the election at all cost, the peace accord signed by the two frontline presidential candidates, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Congress and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party is virtually dead.
The PDP chairman In a veiled reference to Tinubu said:“Private jets belonging to the APC leader in Lagos have been stationed at the airports protected by government operatives as money is being moved from the Central bank of Nigeria to states.”
Secondus said that all the terms of the agreement for peace had been broken by the ruling APC which he said had deployed military and the Police operatives to arrest and detain PDP leaders across the country.
He said that his party expected the National Peace and Reconciliation Committee and the international community to note the alleged declaration of war on the PDP leaders across the country by overzealous security operatives who he said were specially raised for the purpose.
He said that the APC and President Buhari “are not disposed to peace as they have flagrantly violated the terms of the agreement.”
Secondus said in a statement from his media office that reports reaching him from Kwara, Akwa Ibom, Rivers, Kano, Kaduna and other states showed that “the PDP leaders are being harassed with arrest and detention by security operatives on flimsy reasons.
He noted that while the APC was using the military and Police personnel to chase the PDP leaders across the country, they continued to give protection to the APC leaders “as they ferry money and election materials to various locations.”
He added, “Private jets belonging to the APC leader in Lagos have been stationed at the airports protected by government operatives as money is being moved from the Central bank of Nigeria to states.”
The PDP chairman said that General Abdulsalmi Abubakar- led Peace Committee should take copious notice of all the happenings and noted that “the APC and President Buhari are not disposed to any peace accord.”
