The National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has opposed the proposal of the Federal Government to increase Value Added Tax.
Tinubu spoke on Thursday in Abuja at the 11th Bola Tinubu Colloquium to mark his 67th birthday.
The event was held at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
Tinubu said the proposed increase in VAT, if implemented, will reduce the spending power of the people and increase hardship.
He urged the Federal Government to rather consider increasing the tax net.
