The Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Waziri Tambuwal, has appreciated the synergy among security agencies which resulted in the improvement of security situation in the state.
In a statement, Governor Tambuwal stated this while receiving Chief of Training and Operations Defence Headquarters, Major General Leo Irabor who paid him a courtesy visit at government house in Sokoto State.
He said that state government has for long been working closely with members of the Armed forces for the maintenance of peace and stability in the State and the country.
He assured the General that such close working relationship would continue to be maintained for the benefit of the society.
He commended Service Chiefs for their efforts of improving security situation in the country thereby attracting direct foreign investments.
The Governor pointed out that the interaction between the Government and Armed forces would go along way in providing avenue for comparing notes for proper understanding of situations.
Earlier in his address, the Chief of Training and Operations Defence Headquarters, Major General Leo Irabor, said he was in the state on behalf of the Chief of Defence Staff to interact with the Armed forces.
General Irabor thanked the State government for the support it has been providing to the Armed forces, but urged the Governor to continue with the intervention with a view to addressing the security challenges.
He explained that provision of security is a partnership between Government, Armed forces and communities as such thanked the people of the state for their numerous support to the Armed forces.
Major General Irabor acknowledged that the state government interventions in various ways no doubt assisted in boosting the operations of the Armed forces.
