Subway service on a portion of Line 1 remains off-limits to TTC riders and is not expected to resume until Friday afternoon at the earliest.
Trains haven’t been running between St. Andrew and Spadina stations due to emergency track repairs at Museum Station since the start of the morning rush hour.
In a post on X, the TTC said they became aware of a “cracked switch” overnight and are hoping to have service restored in time for the “PM rush hour.”
“We acknowledge and apologize for the inconvenience. But this avoids all-day slowdowns and an early closure, all of which would be more disruptive to service.”
Earlier in the morning, the TTC said service is “estimated to resume early this afternoon,” adding that “an update will be provided when available.”
Shuttle buses are running between St. Andrew and Spadina stations.
Riders can also use the Yonge side of Line 1 to access the downtown core during the subway closure. The TTC says it has also added streetcars to the 510 Spadina route.
Since Spadina is not an accessible station, riders can get off the train at Dupont Station and speak with a TTC staff member to request Wheel-Trans service.
