Sir Shina Peters (Nig), Chika Okpala (Nig) Bisi Olatilo (Nig), Ruth Maingi (Kenya) and Alex Lopez (Nig)are some of the Africa entertainers who will be honored at the 2017 edition of the annual AhbeaAwards due to hold in Houston TX come October 21st 2017. In preparation to further make this year’s edition superb the award ceremony will hold at the prestigious AYVA CENTER 9371, RICHMOND AVENUE, Houston TX. 77083. This year’s event will equally be hosted by two stars from Africa in the person of Uti Nwanchukwu – from Nigeria and delectable Ella Mensah – from Ghana.
Ahbeaward is an event put together to celebrate and honor African entertainers who have spent 20 years and above in the industry.
It’s equally a platform to celebrate and honor Africans that are supporting and promoting African arts, culture and language. The objective of the award is also to use the African stars platform to sensitize young Africans in diaspora about the good things happening in Africa against the negative stories being churned out about the Africa continent in the media.
The award is also designed to among others, create a work bond between African entertainers in Africa.

Rachael Oniga (Nig) and Clem Ohameze (Nig) who are billed for honor in the LEGEND Category .

Organizers of the event in a statement issued in Lagos at the weekend, said aside the 2 main categories, Ahbeawards will also honor and celebrate late African entertainers with awards in the posthumous category .
Those expected to be honored in this category the statement said, would be late entertainers from Ghana and Kenya, adding that recipients of the posthumous award category in the last edition were late Jennipher Ossai and Late Ray Eyiwunmi – both from Nigeria.
The organizers would equally seize this medium to thank all media platform both print, radio and online for their support since ahbeawards berthed in 2015. Our appreciation will equally go to all past recipients of ahbea prestigious awards for been responsive and supportive. Not leaving out our ever supportive guests that grace the event every year we say thank you. And to all African entertainers we say let’s always come together to celebrate ourselves for no other continent will do that for us. It’s time we start telling our stories ourselves.
