The Yoruba Leadership and Peace Initiative (TYLPI) has advised Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, to search far and wide in picking the best heads to assist him in running the affairs of the country.
On Wednesday, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), as the winner of the election
Mahmood Yakubu, the chairman of the commission, said Tinubu secured a total of 8,794,726 votes to win the election.
In a statement on Thursday, Olusegun Ahmadu, the president of the group, said Tinubu should make use of the transition period to “ruminate on the challenges of insecurity, economic downturn and disunity facing the country”.
Ahmadu said the president-elect should endeavour to strengthen the bond of unity among the fragmented parts of the nation so that Nigeria could once again become a strong nation.
“The president-elect should seek far and wide for the best of our nation’s human resources to assist him in the arduous task ahead,” he said.
“The nation is full of expectation that Asiwaju Tinubu would do all within his powers to strengthen the bond of unity among the fragmented parts of the nation so that Nigeria could once again become a strong, independent, and self-reliant entity.”
