….siblings In Police Custody Over Alleged Murder And Robbery
Two siblings identified as Yakubu Suara 26, Lateef Suara aged 20, and other three accomplice Job Ogbile 20, Rilwan Suleiman 18, and Azeez Lateef 19 have been arrested by the men of the Nigeria Police Force for alleged robbery and murder of one Oladapo Toheeb aged 21 who was a motorcycle mechanic.
The suspects were paraded along fourty other suspects today 21st November at the Oyo State Police Headquarters Eleyele in Ibadan
According to the Oyo State Commissioner of Police, Olushina Olukolu, he said the suspected criminals specialized in rubbing people of their Motorcycles and in some cases killed their innocent victims in the process.
CP Olushina confirmed that the Suspects were arrested following a report by one Abideen Oladapo to the SARS office in Dugbe on 10/10 2019, that his son who is a commercial motorcyclist was attack by unknown hoodlums while carrying out his lawful duty within Ibadan.
“As the incident was reported, a team of SARS Operatives swung into action and after discreet investigations, on 11/10/2019, three suspects who later identified themselves as Yakubu Suara M, Job Ogbile M, and Lateef Suara M, were arrested in connection with the crime in their respective hideouts in Lagos, Ogun and Oyo States.
“Subsquently Azeez Lateef and Ridwan Suliaman were later arrested as a member of the syndicate who have jointly carried out series of criminals activities within Ibadan metropolis.
“Speaking on how the deceased was mudered by the gang, CP Olushina said in the course of dragging with one of the hoodlums Job Ogbile not to go away with his bike, the innocent victim Oladapo Toheeb was smashed with a wooden object with the assistance of the others and dispossessed him of his Bajaj Motorcycle, while they left him in his pool of blood to die.
“The victim was left to die, and his remains have been found, and they all have confessed to the crime and also confessed to the series of criminal activities within Ibadan metropolis.CP Olushina said
The leader of the gang Yakubu Suara said he has been into the bike snatching and stealing since early 2018 and he confirmed that the late Oladapo was actually killed by his friend Job.
He said ” I started stealing bikes since 2018 when I was duped by an unknown person of the sum of N400, 000, I was told that I will be traveling to Dubai for hustling but later I discovered that it was all a lie and that I have been duped and I was left with nothing, so I decided to start the snatching of bikes business.
“I’m the ring leader, my younger brother here is also part of our team, I usually ask Azeez Lateef to pretend as if he’s a passenger, he is the one that will bring the bike man and his bike to us and in the process we will overpower the owner and take the bike from them, and we sell the bikes for about Seventy, Sixty even Fifty thousand naira, and as the leader of the gang I take the largest share, at times it might be twenty thousand naira or more than that.
“I’m not the one that killed the late Oladapo Toheeb who we robbed, after we have successfully collected the bike from him, the deceased refuse to let go of Job as he was dragging with him, in the process Job had to hit him with this plank on the forehead and immediately he fell and we all ran away with the bike, though I ran out of town to Lagos but I was later arrested by the Police in our area in Ido local government of the State.
Items recovered from the suspects were one Cutlass, One wooden Object, a pair of slippers belonging to the victim, his robbed Bajaj Motorcycle with registration number LDY 784 UJ.
