As students all over the state resumed for 2017/2018 academic session on Monday, parents and guardians have been enjoined to adequately look after their children as they stay more at home than school.
The Executive Chairman, State Universal Education Board(SUBEB), Prince Felix Awofisayo gave the charge while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital.
Awofisayo, emphasised that, parents should not neglect their duty in making sure that their children are well taking care of through culture, ethics and advance education.
Speaking on the level of preparation of the board for the new academic session, Awofisayo informed that, the board has distributed all the necessary instructional materials to the schools prior to their resumption, adding that their teachers have been trained in TPD jointly organized by SUBEB and UBEC to ensure their credibility performance in the future examinations in the state.
He said, in terms of training and re-training of the teachers in the state, SUBEB boss noted that, over 3,000 teachers were been trained annually since the inception of the present administration in the state, totally 16,000 teachers that have been trained respectively.
This according to him is geared towards effective performance of the students in the state in order to be above their equals in other states of the federation.
He however enjoined the students to seat tight as they are resuming, noting that, the state in collaboration with their teachers are putting all the best to ensure that they are relevant people in the society.
He also urged the teachers to be up and doing in discharging their duty so as to complement the effort of the government in promoting quantitative education in the state.
