The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants has lamented the continued extrajudicial killings, escalation of war and violence in the country, especially against civilians by Israel, blaming it on lack of international recognition of Palestinian State.
The ministry in a statement issued on Thursday said that the right path to resolving the conflict and achieving security and stability in the Middle East region and the world begins with the recognition of the Palestinian state.
The ministry condemned in the strongest terms, the 104th consecutive “war of genocide against our people in the Gaza Strip and the violations and crimes of the occupation forces and organized and armed by an official Israeli decision in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.”
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, “The pillars of the ruling Israeli right-wing war continue to commit more mass massacres against Palestinian civilians throughout the Gaza Strip, deepening forced displacement among their ranks and permanent departure from death to death.
“Whether by indiscriminate shelling, starvation, deprivation of medicines and basic humanitarian needs, or epidemics and diseases resulting from environmental pollution, especially due to internationally prohibited weapons, this is in light of the continued crimes of ethnic cleansing, the extermination and destruction of houses and facilities, and the transformation of the Gaza Strip into a place unfit for human life, including the continued systematic destruction of the health sector and any centers that provide humanitarian services to unarmed civilians.
What the occupation forces and the armed settler militias are doing in the West Bank is the other side of the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
“It is being applied gradually and is currently concentrated against Palestinian camps and towns, as is the case in Tulkarem, its camps, Nablus, Jenin, and its camp.
“It expands day by day to include all occupied West Bank, which often leaves more martyrs and wounded, terrorizes citizens and disrupts their daily lives.”
The ministry stated that “This is done with an unprecedented brutality of extrajudicial killing without the Palestinian posing any danger to the lives of Israeli soldiers, as happened to the prisoner Abdulrahman Merai, who was killed as a result of severe beating according to confessions.”
It further stated that “Not only that, but the occupation authorities are trying to impose a policy of starvation on our people in the West Bank, strangle and destroy their already modest economies and strike any economies that enable them to stay and stay steadfast in their homeland, as is the case in preventing workers from working inside the Green Line, hacking the money of the Palestinian people by an official Israeli decision, and striking any geographical or economic unit between the West Bank and Gaza Strip, all in light of the theft and confiscation of more Palestinian land and the deepening of settlement in it in order to undermine any opportunity to embody the Palestinian state on the ground.”
According to the statement, “The Ministry believes that the escalation in the cycle of wars and violence in the conflict arena is a direct result of the lack of international will to force the Israeli government to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and start procedures to end the Israeli occupation of the territory of the State of Palestine.
“It is also a result of the miserable double standards that enable Israeli perpetrators to continuously escape punishment.
“It is also a direct result of an abhorrent management of the conflict and drowning in addressing some of its phenomena as an alternative to resolving it within the framework of a peace process and real negotiations in accordance with international terms of reference and the Arab Peace Initiative.
“It is also the time for the international community and the American administration, in light of the bloodshed In the face of this serious deterioration in the security and stability of the region, the body of the Palestinian people and the future of their generations must be bold and courageous this time and depart from the traditional failed patterns in dealing with the Palestinian cause and the conflict in the region.”
The ministry noted that “Before any country, the American administration should take the initiative to recognise the Palestinian state as a strategic necessity to achieve security and stability in the world, forcing the occupying power to adapt to this decision and comply with it as an alternative to wasting more time simply by sending appeals and demands to successive Israeli governments that disregard international law and the will of peace at every stage international and with the same American claims.
“Therefore, the Ministry affirms that resolving the Palestinian issue and achieving security and stability in the region and the world begins in a practical and credible manner with American and international recognition of the Palestinian State, including support for Palestinian efforts to obtain full membership in the United Nations.
“The Ministry considers this to be the right historical and international legal path and the only way to protect the two-state solution and get seriously and truly closer to its implementation on the ground that restores hope to the peoples of the region and achieves the desired peace.”
