The leaders of the National Union of Road Transport Association NURTW Oyo State chapter have met with the State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde to find a lasting solution to the crisis that is rocking the Union in the state.
The delegations which was led by the Union National President Alahaji Najeemdeen Yasin, the acting chairman of the Union in the State, Alhaji Abideen Olajide, otherwise known as ‘Ejiogbe’, and Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, a.k.a Auxiliary with both parties agreed to share the leadership positionn of the union in the State equally.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Najeem Yasin while speaking with journalists at the governor office Agodi Ibadan, on Wednesday after meeting with governor Seyi Makinde said that the purpose of his visit was in respect of the lingering crisis within the union in Oyo State.
Yasin noted that both Ejiogbe and Auxiliary camp has agreed to work together for the interest of peace to reign in the union in Oyo State.
‘We have worked out modalities to resolve the issue, and the modality was that each of the faction will bring nine (9) person from their respective camps to comprised the 18 man exco to run the affairs of the union in Oyo State for the next four years.
He stated further that the 18 man leadership will be full executive of the union in the State, adding that they will be inaugurated as soon as the proscription order on the union is lifted by governor Makinde.
In his address the acting chiarman of the union, Alhaji Abideen Olajide, otherwise known as ‘Ejiogbe’ said that he was satisfied with the agreement since the agreement was in the interest of peace.
Also speaking with newsmen was the factional leader of the union in the state, Alhaji Mukaila Lamidi, a.k.a Auxiliary, who noted that he was also satisfied with the agreement in the interest of peace, stressing that non of the members of the union should fight again and anybody causing trouble in the state because of the union should be arrested by the security agency.
