In line with people oriented initiatives of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola’s present administration in Osun State and to create a conducive environment for motorists, the Electronic Automation, E-Proof of Vehicles and Motorcycles Number plates has been introduced.
The Acting Executive Secretary, Office of Transportation in the State, Engr. Wahab Olayiwola Ibrahim who disclosed this in his office during the stakeholders meeting said, the idea was to have a standard and authentic vehicle and motorcycle documents.
Engr. Ibrahim, said the new step would also assist to eliminate forgery of both vehicle and motorcycle particulars in the society saying gone are the days that things were done manually.
According to Engr. Ibrahim, people should consider going for the new E-Proof documents, saying it is for the betterment of every Vehicle and Motorcycle owners while noted that, the Administrative Officers representing the State Office of Transportation have already been attached to all Licencing Offices across the state for the purchase of the Electronic Automation, E-Proof.
“The E-Proof policy includes, Electronic Proof of Ownership, Electronic Proof of Change of ownership, Electronic Proof of Change of Renewal and Herkney Permit among others”, Engr. Ibrahim emphasised.
According to him, “all vehicle particulars like vehicle license, road worthiness with back-up hackney permit (for commercial vehicles only), insurance, prove of ownership, change of ownership, Number plate, heavy duty permit, (for trucks), driver license and commercial vehicles in any of the state colour should be up to date as the office of transportation will not tolerate any motorist without his/her valid
document”.
The Office of Transportation boss who commended the state governor, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola for introducing the new E-Proof policy emphasised that the new development would also checked the issue of fake vehicle documents by hoodlums.
The Osun Office of Transportation boss, enjoined the general public, particularly Vehicle and Motorcycle owners to visit any of the Licencing Offices across the state to update their particulars and ensure proper registration processes, saying the step would also be a safety as well as proof of road worthiness all the time.
Engr. Ibrahim, said as usual, his officers will be strategically deploy to all critical areas in the state in order to ensure free flow of traffic during and after the ongoing Ramadan period.
The Osun Office of Transportation boss, who called on members of the public to always demonstrating maximum support and cooperation to the Road Marshals and other officers of the agency in order to serve the State well noted that, all policies of the government were not to cause hardship but for the betterment of all and sundry.
While warning his men against corruption, Engr. Ibrahim enjoins all of them to see themselves as a dedicated, honest, and God-fearing officers all the time while they must presents themselves to the general public as a good representatives of Osun State Government.
The Acting Executive Secretary further, admonished members of the public found guilty of any traffic offences to always insist on the collection of receipt as P.O.S. is attached to his officers at their different locations across the state.
While wishing the people of the state of the Virtuous a joyful driving Engr. Ibrahim, felicitates with the entire Muslims on the ongoing Ramadan period while enjoined motorists to comply with driving rules and make sure that their vehicle particulars are up-
to- date in order to avoid being penalized by the authorities concerned.
He however commended the officers of the Osun State Police Command and Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, for their usual support to his men.
