Efforts has been put in place by the Osun State government to revoke the unused shops from the owners at the Ayegbaju International Market, in Osogbo.
The Commissioner for Commerce, Cooperatives and Investments, Mr. Jayeoba Alagbada made this known while answering questions from Journalists in his office on Tuesday.
Alagbada said, it has become imperatives for all the shops owners to start operating their shops with immediate effect otherwise, it will be revoked by the government as the abandoned shops have been constituting unhealthy atmosphere in the area where the market is located.
The Commissioner noted that, government has made it possible as one of the people oriented programmes for the betterment of the people by providing the modern shops, saying government is not happy of the way and altitude of the shop owners towards the closure which has contributed to the ugly look of the market area.
“Osun State government under the leadership of Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola has spent a lot towards the good looking of the market and it will not be encouraging if the place continue to be under lock and key which is against the main objective of constructing the market while the decision is not to create problem for anybody”, Alagbada emphasised.
Alagbada, maintained that, the government will start revoking the abardoned shops from the owners and re-allocate it to the people who are ready to make use of them.
The Commissioner noted that, the incumbent administration would continue to make life better for the people of the state through its people oriented programmes.
He therefore urged the people to continue to cooperate with Aregbesola’s led government in its efforts to turn around the fortune of the entire state.
