…..More Than 3,000 New COVID-19 Cases, 29 More Deaths Reported
Ontario is reporting 3,270 new cases of COVID-19 on Monday, a rise from 2,964 cases the day before.
Most of the new cases are in Toronto (917), followed by Peel Region (581), and York Region (389), Windsor-Essex County (246), and Ottawa (131).
Twenty-nine more people have died, bringing the total number of deaths in Ontario to 4,679. Most of the deaths (2,843) have been people living in long-term care.
Long-term care homes continue to struggle to contain the virus, with 219 homes currently dealing with an outbreak.
The province said more than 39,100 tests were completed on Sunday, well short of its goal of 50,000 tests per day.
The province reported a record daily high of 3,363 cases on Saturday but cases dropped to below the 3,000 mark on Sunday.
