A nominee of governor Rauf Aregbesola for Commissioner and Special Adviser, Dr. Adebisi Bawale has re-echoed the need for adoption of principle of one man one vote to consolidate the nation’s Democratic governance.
Bawale, who stated this when he appeared before the state house of assembly for his screening recently, said electoral process needed for total overhauling of the system.
He called for application of technology in the conduct of election to capture all electorate with the time frame for the process to ensure that all electorates were captured within the period.
Bawale, who is a lecturer at University of Ado-Ekiti emphasised the need for electoral body to ensure periodic sensitization and enlightenment programme to equip electorate with nitty gritty of electoral regulations.
The nominee who promised to bring its age long experience to contribute his own contribution towards the development of the entire Osun, said the present administration in the state was keen to socio-economic development of the state.
He maintained that with the current economic situation, the state needed people of vast knowledge to be creative and think outside the box to enhance the state internally generated revenue.
Speaking on the nominee, the speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salam, described the nominee as right peg in a round hole, saying the nominee has intellectual capacity and academic competency as well as exposure to contribute significantly to development of the state.
Salam, urged the nominee not to betray confidence reposed on him as he was confirmed by the house.
The speaker however, called on all nominees to always see their appointment as call to service rather than avenue for self aggrandizement.
It would be recalled that governor Aregbesola had been without Commissioners and Special Advisers since his inauguration for the second term in November 27, 2014.
