The Etsu of Nupe Land, Dr Yahaya Abubakar, has stressed the need for peaceful coexistence among the residents of Osun State and Nigeria entirely in order to pave way for development at all levels .
Abubakar disclosed this in Iwo on Saturday during the celebration of the 50th birthday of the Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba Adewale Akanbi in Iwo town.
According to the Monarch, Peaceful existence lure investors which would also create job opportunities and infrastructural development.
The Etsu noted that, Oba Akanbi giant strides are well known and recognized and his impact felt within and outside the country.
The Royal father also used the occasion to admonished people of the Country to leave in peace and shun any form of violence capable of truncating the existing peace.
The Minister for Communication, Mr Adebayo Shittu, who was also at the occasion, said Oba Akanbi has been a figure to emulate for the past 38-years he had knew him.
Shittu said, the royal father had shown relentless effort towards the issue of climate change in the country and also infrastructural development especially at the grassroots level.
He urged Nigerians to draw good lessons from the royal father whom he said has surpassed all expectations in terms of his commitment to the development of Iwo land.
Similarly, Sen. Florence Ita-Giwa in her own address, said the Oluwo had successful changed the royal institution from the traditional way to the modern pattern being traditionally oriented.
She said further that Oba Akanbi had attached commitment to the plights of his subjects at the grassroots by supporting them to make Iwo land a place to be.
She added that the peaceful coexistence among the people of Iwo land and Osun entirely had made the state to be reckoned with.
Prominent personalities present at the event include : Politicians, Technocrats, religious organization , marketers and love ones both within and outside the country.
