Operatives of Ogun State Police Command have arrested three brothers and another suspect for carrying out series of robbery operations in Ijebu Ode area of the state.
The suspects, Hammed Jagbojagbo; Idris Jagbojagbo; Tobi Jagbojagbo and Tosin Ogundeko were arrested following a distress call received by the operatives of Igbeba Divisional headquarters that armed robbers have invaded a premier lotto agent’s shop at Odi olowo area of Ijebu Ode and robbed the agent of N90,000.
The suspects also snatched a bajaj motorcycle belonging to one Clement Conleth. Upon the distress call, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Igbeba Division, Musiliu Doga quickly led his patrol team to the scene and succeeded in arresting one of them by name, Tosin Ogundeko, from whom the Bajaj motorcycle was recovered.
Ogundeko subsequently led detectives to their hideout in Epe, Lagos State, where the remaining suspects were apprehended, while one of them simply identified as Tosin a.k.a socket escaped.
On interrogation, the suspects confessed to have been responsible for various motorcycle snatching operations in ijebu ode and its environs.
They confessed further that they are all based in Epe, but chose Ijebu Ode as their area of operation. Recovered from them are one cut to size locally made gun and one Bajaj motorcycle.
Ogun State Commissioner of Police, Lanre Bankole has ordered the immediate transfer of the suspects to the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) for discreet investigation. He also directed a manhunt for the fleeing member of the gang.
