Sequel to the directives of the Commandant General of NSCDC, Mr Abdullahi Muhammadu Gana, that personnel of the corps should be assessed to know the psychological status and minds of officers and men, the Osun state Command on Friday embarked on the exercise.
While reading the address, the team leader from Abuja, Assistant Superintendent of Corps Bamidele Temidayo, allayed the fear of personnel that the exercise is met for downsizing and witch hunting.
Bamidele explained further that the information provided will provide a robust forensic psychological data base with a promised that it will also be confidential.
In his own reaction, the state Commandant, Mr Ebenezer Aboluwoye commended the management of the corps for the laudable initiative aimed at ensuring professionalism and better service delivery.
He reiterated the importance of the exercise as to forestall negative attitudes among personnel.
Aboluwoye added that psychological balance of personnel is important in the discharge of duty as it identifies factors that could cause stress, to know the mental ability and alertness, know and monitor the behaviour and also help to improve emotional balance of personnel.
Similarly, the Deputy Commandant of corps Majekodunmi Abidemi said the exercise was not peculiar to NSCDC alone as it is done in every parastatal for better efficiency of personnel.
“It is just to prepare them for better service delivery”.
Also speaking, the forensic expert in Osun Command, Assistant Superintendent of Corps Oyebode Stephen said the commandant general and his team graciously approved this exercise to prepare officers and men for better productivity and performance at their respective beats.
