The minister said the briefing by the ministers is to enable Nigerians to know what the government has done and to ask questions.
President Bola Tinubu has directed all ministers in his cabinet to give account of their stewardship to Nigerians with immediate effect.
This was announced by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, at a news conference in Abuja on Tuesday.
The minister said the briefing by the ministers is to enable Nigerians to know what the government has done and to ask questions.
This is coming barely four months after Tinuub dismissed five ministers from his cabinet.
The affected ministers were the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju-Ken Ohanenye; Minister of Tourism, Lola Ade-John; Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman; Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, Abdullahi Muhammad Gwarzo; and Minister of Youth Development, Dr. Jamila Bio Ibrahim.
The statement read, “President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the immediate implementation of eight far-reaching actions to reinvigorate the Administration’s capacity for optimal efficiency pursuant of his commitment to deliver on his promises to Nigerians.”
The President later appointed seven new ministers to replace the sacked ones.
Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu was appointed Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, while Jumoke Oduwole was named Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment replacing Doris Uzoka-Anite who has been reassigned as the Minister of State Finance.
