The Nigeria Police Force has said it has begun investigation into an alleged threat issued against the Igbo by the Lagos State Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya popularly called MC Oluomo.
It was earlier reported that MC Oluomo issued a threat to Igbo people to stay at home during the governorship election in Lagos on Saturday if they do not want to vote for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates.
This was seen in a viral video in which the loyalist to Bola Tinubu was addressing a gathering and warning their Igbo neighbours not to bother going to the polling units on Saturday if they intended to vote for candidates other than the ruling party’s flag bearers.

The 2023 governorship and State Assembly elections will take place on March 18, 2023, in many states across the country.
Idowu Owohunwa, the Commissioner of Police for Lagos, reacted by denouncing the act and stating that an investigation was currently being conducted into the particular video.
“We condemn in strongest possible terms any act, statement that could be interpreted, speech that could be interpreted deeply as political tension. With regards to this specific video, it is currently a subject of an investigation,” Owohunwa made this known while featuring in an interview with TV Arise News on the preview of the governorship and state assembly elections slated for Saturday.
