Nigeria reached its latest single-day record on Thursday with 1,964 fresh coronavirus infections confirmed across 23 states and the federal capital territory (FCT).
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) confirmed the new positive samples in its update for January 21, 2021.
Lagos topped the list with 824 fresh cases, followed by FCT with 246, and Plateau with 166.
However, while seven persons were confirmed to have died of COVID-19 complications on Thursday, 1,310 new recoveries were recorded across the country.
