Nicki Minaj’s husband, Kenneth Petty has been arrested by the Los Angeles Police Department.
TMZ reports that he was arrested for failing to register as a sex offender in the city. Petty moved to California from New York in July 2019, but according to law enforcement he got pulled over in Beverly Hills in November 2019 and that’s when his legal troubles started.
According to the reports, he was pulled over in November and arrested for not registering as a sex offender in California. He was later released on a $20,000 bond after being charged.
It was expected that after his arrest, he would register as a sex offender. However, that wasn’t the case as he failed to do so.
Petty latest battle with the law means he will be under pretrial supervision and has already surrendered his passport. His travel will be restricted to Southern California.
Even though the prosecutors wanted him placed on house arrest, but his attorney objected and instead Petty is being required to wear an ankle monitor. If he is found guilty he is likely to spend 10 years behind bars.
Kenneth Petty crimes took place in New York back in 1995 when he was arrested and jailed for first-degree attempted rape. He served almost 4 years in NY state prison for the crime and was required to register as a sex offender.
