Eleven candidates have been cleared to vie for the presidency of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) billed for Tuesday September 30 in Benin, Edo State.
The electoral committee also gave the go-ahead other candidates eyeing different positions in the federation.
However, Marcellinus Anyanwu (Imo) and Paul Yusuf (Plateau) were disqualified by the electoral committee to succeed Amaju Pinnick.
The screening of candidates took place on Friday and Saturday September 9 and 10.
Those cleared include Seyi Akinwunmi, Shehu Dikko, Ibrahim Musa Gusau, Idah Peterside, Christian Emeruwa and Abba Abdullahi Yola.
Others are Amanze Uchegbulam, David-Buhari Doherty, Adam Moukthar Mohammed, Suleiman Kwande and Musa Amadu.
According to a portion of the NFF Statutes, 2010 edition, Article 13, Section 4 which states that: “Every candidate for the post of President must be nominated by his state FA of origin and endorsed by three (3) members of NFF from three (3) other geo-political zones.”
