The Acting Chief Judge of the High Court of Lagos State, Honourable Justice Kazeem Alogba has given assurance that the High/Magistrate Court , lying , being and situate at Addo Road, Ajah, Lekki, Lagos State will soon be completed and commissioned. His Lordship gave this assurance during an interractive session with Lekki Forum of the Nigerian Bar Association who paid the Acting Chief Judge of the High Court a courtesy visit on 8th August, 2019.
The Acting Chief Judge was accompanied by Deputy Chief Registrars, Mrs Femi Segun and Mr. R.O Davies.The delegation of the Lekki Forum who met with the Acting Chief Judge was led by Oladotun Hassan, the Chairman, Ayodele Ademiluyi, the Secretary, Folashade Bakare, the Financial Secretary, Joan Ohwaguono, Assistant Social Secretary and Yakubu Eleto, the Assistant Publicity Secretary.
It would be recalled that the Lekki Forum has been pushing for the commissioning of the High Court Building and the inauguration of the Lekki Division in order for the Lekki Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association can come into being.
His Lordship also notified that a body of Judges has been constituted to review the extant High Court of Lagos State (Civil Procedure) Rules 2019. His Lordship maintained a robust Bar and Bench dialogue is necessary for better administration of justice in Lagos State. His Lordship raised the need for sustained and continous discussions between the Bar and Bench.
His Lordship harped on the need for the resurgence of professionalism at the Bar. His Lordship counseled that consistency and painstaking hardwork is the key to success at the Bar.
His Lordship assured the Lekki Forum in its quest to become a full-fledged Lekki Branch of the Nigerian Bar Association. His Lordship assured the Lekki Forum of a further date to continue the conversation about the synergy of the Bar and the Bench in the quest for bettter administration of justice in Lagos State.
