Victor Osimhen, Super Eagles forward, has joined Napoli, a top Serie A side in Italy, on a five-year deal.
The 21-year old striker linked up with Napoli from Lille, a French Ligue 1 side.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, Napoli president, announced Osimhen’s arrival to the club on his social media on Friday afternoon.

The Serie A side also welcomed the Eagles striker on on its official website.
“SSC Napoli are delighted to announce the signing of Victor Osimhen from Lille on a permanent transfer,” the club statement said.
The former Vfl Wolfsburg player is seen by the Gennaro Gattuso side as a capable replacement for Arkadiusz Milik, a Poland striker, who has been linked with a move to Juventus, Atletico Madrid and Tottenham Hotspur.
It is believed that he will wear the jersey number 9, which has been donned by some former greats including Gonzalo Higuaín, Gianfranco Zola, Daniel Fonseca, Nicola Amoruso and Simone Verdi are some of the past stars who wore the jersey number for the Blues.

Osimhen scored 18 goals and provided six assists in 38 games across all competitions for Lille during the 2019/2020 campaign. He was also voted the club’s player of the year.
On June 29, 2020, the former Wolfsburg striker was named the Best African Player In Ligue 1 for year 2020.
Gernot Rohr, Super Eagles technical adviser, had earlier advised the talented forward to join a club where he’ll get a regular play time.
“He is a guy who loves to work hard and who needs to be in constant competition. I hope Victor talks about it with Gattuso and can then find the right role within the Napoli project,” Rohr told Marco Gordiano of Radio Punto Nuovo.
“Victor has a great player mentality. And often, in our chats, I advised him to take an important step and go to a level club, where he can find the right space to play continuously and grow.”
Amaju Pinnick, Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) president, expressed optimism on Osimhen’s transfer to surpass Diego Maradona’s record in Napoli.
“Victor will do everything possible to reach and exceed the records written by a legend like Maradona,” he said.
“I heard Victor a few minutes ago: he is very excited by his new experience and by the new club Naples is a big name in global football.For him it will be a new challenge and he said to me: “President,I will make Naples proud.
