Minute Of The Theatre Arts And Motion Producers Association Of Nigeria Meeting Held On 28the August 2017

The Theatre Arts and Motion Producers Association of Nigeria (TAMPAN) had a ad- hoc meeting in Ibadan on the 28th of August 2017.The meeting was summoned by the associations BOT and it held in the conference hall of D’Rovans hotel with 3 members of the BOT in attendance. The members are Otunba Adebayo Salami (Oga Bello), Omo oba Jide Kosoko, Alhaja LanRe Hassan ( Iya Awero). Also in attendance was the President of TAMPAN, Omo oba Dele Odule, the deputy President, Antar ‘laniyan and the rest central working committee members. The association’s state chapters governing body were equally present led by each states Governor.

Top on the meeting’s agenda was measures to be taken to further project the association to national and international prominence.
The meeting resolved that the Associations 2014 constitution must be reviewed immediately.

The Association’s ‘one love’ slogan also came under scrutiny and it was agreed that the slogan be properly evaluated and changed should the need arise, for effective identification of members.

Activities of Pirates and the destructive impact of their negative networking was mentioned by the BOT . The discussion over this provoked a charge to the Association’s national office, to look into the piracy of member’s work and film marketing issues with a view to identifying solutions to them, even as it was agreed that relevant authorities saddled with similar task work in tandem with and find lasting formula to arrest the menace called piracy or at least, bring it to the barest minimum.
The BOT through Omo oba Jide Kosoko further urged all bona fide members of the association to adhere strictly to the associations national office directives as this is the only way through which coercion and obedience could attract timely positive results for the association, thus paving smooth passage for general benefits for all members.

The meeting which started around 10am lasted till 9pm.
The BOT commended the 2nd TAMPAN convention/retreat committee for job well done so far. The 2nd TAMPAN convention/retreat will be coming up in Lagos from 16th -18th of November 2017.
The 1st convention/retreat was held in Ilorin in 2016 and was hosted by His Excellence Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed.
