One of the militants who killed a soldier and four policemen in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State, Endurance Ominisan, has been arrested by the police.
Ominisan, popularly known as Mighty, was arrested on Sunday. The notorious militant was arrested by the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team.
After several days of trailing the suspects in the killing of the solider and policemen, Ominisan, a native of Arogbo in Ondo State, came out from the creek to visit his girlfriend in a house he rented for her at 20, Joel Adebolu Street, Ibeshe area of Ikorodu.
The IRT, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police Abba Kyari, immediately swooped on him and surrounded the house.
On sighting the team, under the mandate of the IGP, Ibrahim Idris, Ominisan climbed to the roof of the house from where he fired several shots with his pistol on the members of the IRT, who responded swiftly.
The militant was said to have been fatally wounded.
He was then brought down from the roof of the house and taken to the General Hospital in Ikorodu, where he later died.
But before he died, Ominisan mentioned other members of the gang who took part in the killing of the soldier and policemen as including America and Stone Vika.
Ominisan equally said he was part of the gang that kidnapped a Lagos monarch, the Oniba of Iba, Oba S. Goriola; and partook in the kidnap of staff and students of Nigeria-Turkish International School, Ogun State.
One Turkish made Fatih 13 pistol with serial number 12TF00126, which had four expended and five live ammunitions were recovered from him.
Serious efforts to arrest the remaining gang members have been put in place.
