The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of the University College Teaching hospital (UCH) Professor Abiodun urged media organisation to embark on educating and sensitization of the public on medical issues.
He made this call yesterday 15th August during a courtesy visit of the Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Oyo state chapter who has moved to provide zebra crossing at the entrance of the University College Hospital, UCH through the support of Gates of Praise Foundation.
The Chairperson of NAWOJ, Comrade Jadesola Ajibola talked about the need for safety precautions for patients who come and go out of the hospital with a need to support the institution with a zebra crossing.
Comrade Jadesola Ajibola requested the collaboration of the UCH on gender issues such as intervention and quick response for victims of abuse, maternal and child care as well as accident cases that may require medical attention from the institution.
Responding, the CMD said that the institution will make for the second gate which will also be commissioned on Wednesday.
The CMD also assured Nawojians that the institution will give necessary support to the Association from time to time.
