Maple Leafs general manager Brad Treliving paid a heartfelt tribute to Chris Snow on Saturday night.
Snow, the assistant general manager of the Calgary Flames, passed away on Saturday from complications of ALS at the age of 42.
“I am devastated with the loss of our dear friend and colleague, Chris Snow,” Treliving said in a statement released by the Leafs. “‘Snowy’ was a true example of strength, courage, grit and compassion.
“Beyond being an exceptional colleague, he was a cherished friend who deeply impacted our lives. His intellect was matched only by his incredible kindness, thoughtfulness and unwavering love and devotion to his family and friends.
“Chris inspired us all as he faced the relentless battle with ALS head-on, refusing to let it define him or derail his spirit.
“On behalf of my family and the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, we send our thoughts and prayers to his beloved wife Kelsie, his son Cohen and his daughter Willa during this unimaginably difficult time. May they find comfort in knowing Chris’s legacy of love and strength and love will forever endure.”
Treliving and Snow worked together in Calgary before Treliving and the Flames parted ways following the 2022-23 season.
Earlier Saturday night, Kelsie Snow posted on X (formerly Twitter) that her husband’s kidneys, liver and lungs had been donated.
“We are deeply broken and deeply proud,” Kelsie Snow posted. “In life and in death, Chris never stopped giving. We walk forward with his light guiding us.”
