A man identified as Roger Hedgpeth has been arrested after he revealed to a US Secret Service agent that he was going to the White House to assassinate the President.
According to the report, 25-year-old Hedgpeth was arrested on Saturday afternoon after making alarming threats to a Secret Service agent patrolling about a block away from the executive mansion.
“I am here to assassinate President Donald Trump,” Hedgpeth warned while revealing he had a knife to do it with.
According to Police, Hedgpeth was taken into custody, his vehicle impounded, and he was brought to a hospital for a mental health evaluation.
This is not the first time someone has been arrested for making threats towards the US president.
In September 2018, an individual was taken into custody after they climbed over the White House security barrier while in November 2019, another person was taken into custody after they allegedly attempted to drive an unauthorized vehicle through a White House security checkpoint.
