The first class monarch, Oluwo of Iwo, HIM Oba Abdulrosheed Adewale Akanbi, has described the National Caretaker Chairman of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Hammed Makarfi as a leader per excellence for displaying political maturity devoid of hatred for visiting the number one citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammed Buhari.
The monarch said bitter politics among Nigeria politicians is disheartening and divisive, praying its actors to emulate the leadership qualities in Makarfi for eschew from political blackmailing and destructive criticism that has characterized Nigeria political market.
The commendation was contained in a press statement by his press secretary, Alli Ibraheem in registration of the PDP boss shrewdness including his visitation to president Buhari.
Oluwo said most if not all politicians are guilty of playing politics with bitterness of wishing leaders death. He appealed to politicians and Nigerians to borrow a leaf from Makarfi to make Nigeria great again.
According to Oluwo “I see a great leader in Makarfi. His leadership qualities are worthy to be emulated by politicians that, irrespective of your political affiliation, you must at all-time support your leaders with prayers and not wishing him or death”.
“As a responsible monarch, I support any leaders irrespective of your political affiliation -PDP, APC, Labour or Accord party , either appointed or elected for the interest of the nation. I personally commend Makarfi for his visiting Buhari, it is one of the pointers of a matured leader”
“Nigerians have to change their old ways. Don’t say Fayose should die because you are APC or Buhari should die because you are PDP member. The best we can do for this country as ordinary citizen is to assist our leaders with prayers irrespective of our affiliation. Our thinking is sentimental. And we must change. Prayer for leaders is for oneself and ones country” Oluwo.
Oba Akanbi admonished politicians across the globe to be emphatic and sympathetic to each other, saying Nigerians and Nigeria needs political maturity devoid of hatred to lubricate the country`s growth. He further called for multi-party brainstorming on best ideas to make Nigeria a working nation.
